ABOUT CHET WILD
Chet Wild is one of the most unique acts on the college market. Using his years of experience as an RA, over-involved student leader, and eventual Residence Hall Director, Chet has an extraordinary ability to relate to the college experience on a deep and hilarious level. In addition to stand-up comedy shows, Chet also offers workshops built around creativity and leadership (see below).
COLLEGE COMEDY SHOWS
Chet bases much of his stand-up material for college shows around his days of being a Resident Assistant / Residence Hall Director, writing jokes around the common challenges of transitioning to life in the dorms (or "residence halls" if your campus refers to that as the "dirty d-word"), figuring out creative ways to use your degree when you can't find the job you want, and later shifting from college to the real world. He also shares many of his not-so-common college experiences, including the #1 roommate problem he had to deal with (it's not what you think) and how volunteering for a sex ed sketch at freshman orientation will follow you around for the rest of your college career.
His performances blend self-deprecating humor with witty crowd interaction, building a relationship with the audience that will be sure to leave your students with something to talk about.
Punchline Magazine describes Wild as "A strong performer with a unique voice" and a show review by Odeum Entertainment calls him "A comedian to see over and over again."
CREATIVITY AND LEADERSHIP WORKSHOPS
Chet holds a Master of Science degree in Creative Studies from the International Center for Studies in Creativity at the State University of New York, College at Buffalo (for those of you impressed by long titles). In addition to stand-up shows, Chet offers creativity and leadership workshops which are great for: RA training, student leadership programs, students in the performing arts, and any students interested in further developing themselves in the areas of creativity and leadership. Workshops are not a comedy show (though that doesn’t mean they can’t be fun), and workshops can be tailored to meet your student’s needs dependent upon the target audience and student learning outcomes desired. Topics of focus include:
Chet Wild is a comedian, writer, and actor (in that order) who moved from the east coast to Los Angeles at the start of 2013 and can be seen performing across town most nights of the week. When not on stage, he spends his time training with The Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre, co-hosting "The Dunk Tank Podcast", and explaining to his parents why he doesn't really use his college degrees.
