I've been trying to release a new episode of "Behind The Funny" every Monday... so far, so good.  In this weeks episode, I sit down with Rich Vos (Last Comic Standing, Comedy Central Presents, Opie & Anthony) and talk about speech impediments, a funny Seinfeld story, and Vos's dream comedy show.  Enjoy... and watch through the ending, as there are previews of the next 2 episodes including my battle with sleep apnea and an interview with Jim Florentine.
This weekend was an AWESOME weekend of comedy.  I had a great time opening on 5 shows for Jim Florentine and found myself writing new material on stage.  Additionally, "Chet Wild's Comedy Showcase" had another great turn-out and congrats to Nigel Larson on winning the audiences approval for best act of the night!  I also started working on a new bit where I bring an audience member on stage and interview them, and I was pretty happy with how it went.  You can click on the pictures below to enlarge them and get a visual for what I'm writing about.
On Sunday, Rick Matthews and I went to "Ointoberfest" with Benny on camera, and we documented our experience (similar to our Buffalo Wing Festival video on Behind The Funny).  Oinktoberfest is a big barbeque festival where there are all sorts of food competitions and as well as opportunities to taste BBQ from a variety of places.  Oinktoberfest itself was a letdown, but we did meet some awesome people and the food we sampled was fantastic!  That video will be out in a few weeks.

Following a dismal Bills game, I headlined my first true club show on Vinnie Paulino's 5 Shots Comedy Show.  Despite starting off with a heckler that ended up getting bounced and having a front-row audience member bump my stool on stage which resulted in my glass falling and shattering everywhere, it was still a fun 30 minutes on stage.  Thanks to Vinnie and Tizo for producing that show, excellent job!

The icing on the cake, however, would have to be reading Kyle Cease's blog this weekend.  Kyle was holding a contest on his website to win a VIP spot at his comedy bootcamp next month, and even though I didn't win - he highlighted my entry on his most recent blog.

"I fucking love what Chet Wild just wrote, I thought that if you really read what he wrote, you will see that he is someone who is going after his destiny, and sees the true value of what his life will be like and how to maximize opportunities [...] I recommend everyone read that so you can see how much you really can do with something [...] You just need to trust yourself and truly take action. Go full force. It is the only way to live. We have this one life and we truly half ass everything. Any of you are capable of writing what he wrote and really seeing a future. Nice job Chet." - Kyle Cease

In case I haven't said it recently, thank you to everyone who's been supportive of me and to all of the comics I've recently had the opportunity to work with.  Comedy is ready to blow up in Western NY and I'm glad to be a part of it.

See you at a show soon!

Chet! I love this interview. I had no idea that Rich Vos had a speech impediment.
