Long time, no update, eh?  2 weeks ago I had the opportunity to open at St. John Fisher College for Michelle Buteau (NBC's Last Comic Standing, Comedy Central's Premium Blend, HGTV's 25 Worst).  Her plane came in late, so I got to kill some extra time until she arrived . . . she pretty much walked in the building and hopped right on stage.  I had a great time performing and really enjoyed getting to hang out with Michelle afterwards as well.  If you have the chance, make sure to check her out at www.MichelleButeau.com - very funny stuff.  She's also having me open for her again at Syracuse University in February, I'm pretty pumped!

This past week I opened at St. Bonaventure University for Pete Lee (NBC's Last Comic Standing, Comedy Central Presents, The Bob and Tom Show).  The only thing that could make college gigs more fun is if there was beer . . . oh wait, St. Bonaventure has a bar on campus with 75-cent drafts!  Yeah, you heard me - I was drinking 75-cent Sam Adams from  tap and playing shuffle board before going on stage, how sweet is that?  I opened up with a joke about how I got into comedy for the chicks and it was discouraging gigging at a campus where the school mascot was the Virgin Mary.  No one threw a bible at me and my set was sweet . . . did I mention 75-cent drafts!  If I had that in college, shit, I would still be in college.  Pete then rocked the room for a good hour - check him at www.PeteLee.net - he has his own Comedy Central Presents special coming out in January.  It's kind of surreal just chilling with comics . . . it's like, holy shit, you've got your own special on TV, what the hell am I doing here opening for you?  I'm not complaining though  :p

Remember how I had that radio show, "The Chet Wild Show', on 91.3FM WBNY in Buffalo?  Well, the last show got pulled mid-broadcast due to "technical difficulties" . . . ie, Ryan's use of the term "golden shower" didn't make the program director happy, nor did the station want us talking about the Sarah Palin porn that recently came out.  So, we struck a deal with the station board of directors - they're going to advertise and promote the show - and we in turn are going to keep the show as a podcast, so we don't have to worry about content.  So, I'm putting The Chet Wild Show on the shelf for a little white to retool the show format, but I'll keep everyone posted once I relaunch as a podcast.

Anyway, I've really been enjoying the college gigs and am hoping to book more soon (check the schedule under stand-up on the left).  In the meanwhile, if you're in Buffalo Thanksgiving week check out myself along with other Buffalo comics at Nietzsche's Tuesday night and Casey's Wednesday night.

Awesome?  Awesome.
